Mary has been down on her luck. Her parents sold their farm and moved to the city for Mary to go to college. Well, her parents died and she has been struggling. She gets a letter that her farm is being returned to her if she wants it. Mary makes her way home, but doesn't plan on Borgaz. He is a bossy alien that was surveying the farms in the area that the alien warriors have been given to manage. He is so protective and doesn't want to let Mary do all the work on her own. I loved the setting and completely visualized the farm because a family member lives in a 1912 home. There are some cute bits of humor. Both Mary and Borgaz are stubborn. It makes for some good back and forth between the two. This starts out as a slow-burn, but these two MORE than make up for it later. It's got the spicy spice. Great new spin-off of series! I am looking forward to reading Temel soon. 4.5 stars content! 4 spice emojis!
