Holy red herrings, Batman! L.M. Chilton refers to those cute little fishies in his dedication and are they ever jumping in this book. If you have been a part of the online dating world or have heard stories from friends, you will recognize the conversations and situations that Gwen encounters. Hopefully there have not been any homicides in your online dating experiences. For Gwen the dating app Connector has been a crutch as she processes the end of a long-term relationship. Then she discovers that her recent dates are dying, one by one. One of the police detectives is a former schoolmate, so he seems to be trying to help her. Unfortunately it is a race against time and the killer has control over the finish line. Chilton kept me in the dark about as long as Gwen was. We had a seafood feast! This really is more like a cozy than a slasher read. Gwen actually reminded me a bit of Jaine Austen in the Laura Levine series. If you are happily married like I am, you will be extra thankful for your spouse after reading this cautionary tale.

Phooey! I just discovered that I can download a copy on Edelweiss+. Yippee! Apparently it is being released later in the US under the new title. 🥰

Online dating can definitely be a scary as it does have some cons. Hopefully nothing as scary as what happened in this book though. Great review, Robin. I mean, supermom Darla :)
