I just love reading Irish stories especially this time of year. Why have I never read a Jean Grainger book before? Her writing is wonderful and the narrator of this book is really fabulous 馃檶 (I loved her voice and Irish brogue.) It's a short one. Just 6 hours but so much greatness packed in.
I love Mags! She's a Sergeant with the Garda (Irish Police) in her small town of Ballycarrick. She's married with two children and at 48 she's just started with, "The change." She's peri-menopausal. This is about Mags life, thoughts and the people and town around her. Mags is a strong but very kind hearted woman. She's always willing to help others. One day there is a murder in her tiny town that involves the travellers. I've never heard of this Irish group and enjoyed learning about them.
If you're looking for a good Irish story this month I highly recommend this one. You'll get immersed quickly into this Irish town and its people. I'll definitely continue with this series. It's really 鈥榝eel good!鈥欚煉
