Thanks Stellita! I felt like I was getting an ulcer just from that little bit. Honestly, I would recommend it because it's written very well. It just wasn't for me.

I definitely think you should try it. The writing is beautifully painful- you can feel it. I just couldn't. I'm a pussy and couldn't handle it. If I had liked the MC I would've stuck it out but I just didn't like her at all. Please try it though!

I have a feeling yo will like it. I think you'll really appreciate the great writing. Although, I think SC Stephens is a great writer I think Mia Asher may be better and even though I DNF'ed it- I would still recommend it. Don't know if that makes sense?? Let me know how you get on. If the writing is exceptional, the heroine can beat men with dead kittens and I'll appreciate it. Will let you know.

The writing was good so maybe my 3 stars was a bit stingy but it definitely was not 5 stars...... didn't like her for most of the book.

It's tough. There are genres where you go in knowing the story will be painful and harrowing (horror, for example). You go in prepared and willing to be traumatized.

Romance is also formulaic, a sure bet to be regaled by a courageous H/h and their happy ending.

This book... ahhh, this one breaks the rules. It crosses genres. But if I had to categorize it, it would be a Drama. A Tragedy, maybe. Not a romance.
