it was amazing
bookshelves: thriller, unparalleled

Over thousand years ago the first ruler of Poland, Mieszko I, captured a castle or stronghold (something like that) and when he got in he decided to rape the daughter of the owner. Now he is in one of polish bills. And nobody remembers her. It's just our fucking world.

I was watching some documentary. An old German woman was talking about how a group of Russians soldiers took her upstairs and they kept her for a whole night. She would never forget the night. A lot of woman raped in 1945 would commit suicide.

Between 100 000 and 250 000 women were raped in 1994 in Rwanda. I could get on and on. And now in Russia a woman can't inform a police if her husband beats her. Under this regime beating wives is legal.

Devices of torture were used during medieval ages just to punish women who supposedly were in close contacts with the Devil.

Made of iron, and fashioned into the shape of a pear, it is inserted into the vagina of the unlucky accused. With each turn of a screw, the pear expands, until the cavity ruptures with fatal results.

It's only one of many such devices used by the holy church and holy shit, was this book a ride!

This is my new all-time favorite series.

I'll try the writer if only I have time. It can take even a few years. I've bought The Cold Dish, the first book of Walt Longmire series by Craig Johnson. Probably I will love it.

´Ê☆~´¡³Ü³Ù³Ü³¾²Ô My husband and a friend here on goodreads like Walt Longmire but I don't like him. In that type of writing I only like C.J. Box. I am unfortunately losing my taste for his books also and may have read my last one.
