really liked it

I went into this book expecting some funny stories about nannying for the ultra-wealthy, and while it absolutely delivered those, it also went much deeper.

The author contrasts her own childhood growing up in a chaotic household led by young, poor parents to the lives of her nanny charges, where every advantage in the world is available and taken for granted.

She explores complex feelings about being in a role that is both better paid and less prestigious than her friends鈥 jobs, watching an uneven division of labour between mothers and fathers in even the wealthiest households, and being treated as superior to other nannies because she鈥檚 white. This book was super fascinating and I would absolutely recommend it.

Emily Morgan Is there a lot of cursing in this book?

Erin This is SUCH a bad title, I went in expecting little but was pleasantly surprised! Glad you liked it too. I have no recollections re: level of cursing, Emily.

Yaya The book is so much more than just stories from work! I agree

Emily Random question鈥攁re there any pictures in the book? Or is it something I can listen to without missing out?

Jillian B Emily wrote: "Random question鈥攁re there any pictures in the book? Or is it something I can listen to without missing out?" No pictures or charts or anything! I actually think it would be a great one to listen to.

Yaya There is no pictures or charts, can confirm 馃槑

Debbie Bright There is a little bit of cursing, but IIRC it wasn't more than 5 curse words in the whole book.
