Kara has fled the boarding house she’d been living in when a super creepy guy accused her of theft to blackmail her into sleeping with him. H’zim has served the majority of a prison sentence for a crime he didn’t commit. H’zim finds Kara squatting in his farmhouse, and after a bit of discussion agrees to allow her to stay as long as she earns her keep.

The pair find themselves unable to resist each other as they work hard side by side to rebuild the farmstead. Will H’zim leave Kara to exact revenge on those who framed him or will his feelings for Kara outweigh his need for payback?

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and even though I’ve not read other books in the series, it’s not difficult to follow along.
