really liked it

I don't feel I can do justice on a review of this book, so I won't try. To rise from a lethal family with no kind words or support of any kind in the Mississippi racial atmosphere, to the different type of prejudice by the Communists in Chicago, pretty much self-educated, to become one of the foremost black writers in the world......quite a feat.

Antoinette I will bet this was a very hard book to read. Yes, we both need a break from bleak:)

Diane Barnes For sure!

Diane Barnes Amy Tan's Backyard Bird Chronicles is a good antidote.
