and that's me finishing my last book for this class. and i managed to read it the same day i watched coraline, so i'm a little gaimaned out right now. this book was enjoyable - it is a little episodic-with-overarching-storyline number about a child living in a graveyard with the dead after a man slaughters his family with a knife. typical newbery-award fare. there are a few very memorable scenes, and i think i developed a crush on silas, but i have too much of a headache now for anything else. maybe more?
okay - now my class is officially over and i don't have a headache. this is what i learned in class today: 1) no one writes fantasy novels for adults anymore. 2) young boys won't want to read this book because it starts out with a graphic murder, and little boys don't like that because it's too much like a slasher film. 3) there aren't any other books that take place in a graveyard with characters who are both living and dead. 4) with this book, neil gaiman is trying to jump on the graphic novel bandwagon. in short - there are some stupid stupid motherfuckers in my class. i just sit there silently, and draw pictures of samuel pepys. and i didn't even get my paper back today as promised. i hate waiting for grades.

were you also drawing a ghost graduating from library school today?

i want a picture of morrissey.
on fire.
not, as in, 'hairdresser on fire'...
but, like, up in flames, burning alive.
yeah?
I want a snail that looks like me.
