This book originally caused me to quit the series. I've both read and listened and I'm good with either one. Upon second read, I did raise the stars. This book starts back at Book 1 during the Heathens' initiation hunt.

Cecily Knight (daughter of Xander & Kimberly (Black Knight)) has a dark sexual kink she wants to explore. She thinks Landon is the one to make her fantasies come true, but after she places a request on the sex club app that Landon is a member of, she finds Jeremy Volkov (son of Adrian & Lia (Deception Trilogy), brother to Annika) answering her request instead.

They start this annoying game of Cecily saying "I want you to chase me and force me to have sex with you" and then telling Jeremy to stop because she's scared. Jeremy has to deal with his jealousy over Landon, and his feeling of betrayal when Cecily cuts off her friendship with Annika after the whole "shooting Creighton" incident (Book 2). Cecily also has to deal with her demons that were a result from an assault by her first boyfriend. Eventually, their hate fucking turns to love.

CECILY: My biggest issue with this book is I absolutely HATE Cecily. I don't like anything about her character. Not one single thing. I thought she was a twat of epic proportions. I also hated the fact that Cecily kept pushing Jeremy away. It was so repetitive. I didn't even put any sweet quotes in my review because I can't stand her. I'm also pissed because she's the daughter of Xan and Kim and I fucking love them so much!!! They deserved better!!! Kim def should have swallowed on this one.

JEREMY: Honestly? I wasn't swept away by him. I could take him or leave him. Only reason I have fondness for him is because of his origin story in the Deception Trilogy, which is one of my favorites.

SEX: I wasn't impressed.

After the second read I decided to push through the series and I'm so glad I did because God of Fury is the best book ever written.

Shadel S. Seems like we’re on opposite ends with this! I don't know how to feel about Jer. I think Cecy is amazing! But I think Ilya is the real hero in this book 😂 and yess, God of Fury is hands down the best!

I like Jeremy - partially because he's Adrian & Lia's kid. I hated that Ces was always pushing him away. It just grated on my nerves. Ilya is awesome.

Ces is def awful. I can't say I loved any of the FMCs in this particular series.
