I am definitely not the right reader for this book. Initially, I connected with the first chapter and enjoyed Calla’s snarky personality. However, I soon found the language offensive (the ‘N� word is used multiple times) and the plot more social horror than the creepy psychological horror I enjoy.

Oh no, I’m bummed to see this as I have this one coming up. I do like social horror so I’ll still read it, but will brace myself for the offensive language. So sorry this didn’t work for you, Jayme!

I think the N word used by Black ppl is okay because that's how they express themselves with ppl they are cool with
Bella, I get that but the word itself still bothered me among other issues I had with the book.
