neither did i, Kati😭😭😭 i really expected to love this one since it’s been so hyped by ARC reviewers and i loved this couple in one of Ana’s other books... but the way i had to force myself to continue reading with nothing remotely intriguing me? sighhhhh i fear an impending book slump :(

yeah i’ve called it quits with this author. whether the next books in the series get better, i wouldn’t care. i have yet to read twisted lies and i think i will just to have the whole series read and finished, but as for this one, i’d rather not. good luck to y’all tho. 🫶🏻

i didn’t even like the twisted series that much tbh💀 there was one book i wholeheartedly loved and the rest were either meh or straight up no. but bcos i liked the sneak peek of this couple in Twisted Lies, then i thought id immediately like this but 🤡 twisted lies was boring af for me i can’t lie. i gave it three stars bcos it was fine... not bad but not memorable. i think im gonna wait for my GR friends to read the second book of this series and determine from them if i should even bother😭

that was my way of thinking too. most of my friends liked (some loved) twisted lies, and i told myself, ooooh, i'll like it! and then the more i think about it, the more hesitant i become, and then i end up forgetting about it till one of my friends mentions it again lol. i'm curious to see what people will think of the rest as they come out for sure, but that's it lol. i'm gonna make sure i'm determined to not let the "hype" get to me.

omg you’ve actually described my thought process with these books and other similar series really well😭 i tend to get caught up in the hype, even though i know it probably won’t work for me because i know my tastes pretty well... but i give it a go anyway and I act shocked that it was just mediocre or underwhelming. or i completely forget to even bother reading the book.

idk why i let the hype get to me when most of it is booktok and i don’t trust booktok one bit💀 i like the guy that’s speculated to be the hero of the second book so we’ll see how that goes�� i want to read it for him since he was one of the only good things about this book... but i said the same thing about this couple when they cameoed in twisted lies so🧍

ahaha basically here in the UK, our newest prime minister, Liz Truss, was shit like unbelievably bad and she resigned a few days ago and was only in office for 44 days😭 and a major newspaper had a live stream on YouTube where they wanted to see if the lettuce could outlast Liz Truss as PM💀💀 it was a picture of her next to a lettuce and the lettuce actually won.

SHDUDIUSUDUD I actually watched a video on youtube talking about it. Honestly, the fact that I don't even find it *that* wild says a lot about my country as well 🤡 our economy minister resigned over here and the new one lasted LESS THAN A WEEK. We truly do live in a �� society �� here's to hopefully less dystopian news happening soon lol.

no fr at this point i am not shocked by anything at all with government politics😭 the new PM people seem to want in is the guy Liz Truss replaced and he is actually a bumbling idiot it’s insane�� he once hid in a giant walk in freezer on live tv because he didn’t want to answer interview questions and you could just see him RUNNING into an industrial fridge🧍ahaha omg only lasting a week is insane, our chancellor also only skated 38 days and i thought that was a bad enough but seven days takes the cake for sure💀

no you’re actually so right💀 for me, whenever her MCs are side characters in other the other books, they actually seem to be a bit distinguishable and unique (like Josh and Jules, i loved them as side characters but not in their own book) but in their own?🤡 they all blend together at this point there’s nothing new and fresh at all. so true how she relies too much on tropes�� instead of her books actually having a thorough plot line, it’s just a bunch of interconnected tropey scenes with no coherence.

Imagine 6 more books with characters that would basically be copy and paste Dante and Vivian...I wish authors would stop relying on tropes so much and just choose one or two and try to add flavour to it..at this point all of her men are basically one dry man

nooo bcos when she said this was going to be a seven book series for each deadly sin, i immediately thought “how tf is she gonna manage making each one unique?�� and so far this one hasn’t given me much hope😭 i 100000% agree with you that she )(and other authors) need to stop relying on tropes to write their stories for them and think tropes alone with no plot nor fleshed out characters is enough. i always think that tropes are the basis of the book, the foundation that the story gets built upon... then you gotta put the work in to flesh it all out but most authors seemingly have not got the memo :/
