Who here is addicted to things like Mean Girl Murders???? Put your hand down, Shelby, you’re the one who told me about that one. The story here is presented as if it were an actual true crime novel written by a disgraced sort of tabloid journalist. And the crime is absolutely GRISLY! With snippets of interviews from participating parties, their family members, Tumblrs, fan fictions and podcasts, the story is woven together to determine exactly who was the driving force behind setting fire to the victim.

Also interspersed throughout are details of the individual girl’s obsessions with things like the occult, Slender Man or a fictionalized version of the Columbine killers. Even a fictionalized version of Jimmy Savile gets mentioned. And all that extra is where this one sort of lost me. At some point it really began reminding me of the documentaries I am so addicted to watching, but eventually begin getting annoyed with - yelling at my television THIS COULD HAVE BEEN ONE OR TWO EPISODES INSTEAD OF SIX!!!!!

Creativity always wins me over, however, and to Eliza Clark I only have one thing to say . . .

3.5 Stars and I’m feeling good today so I’ll round up. Now let me get back to my regularly scheduled programs . . . .
