(view spoiler)[ch 163 lore dump!! the shards of brilliant light and the monarch’s were created by the ultimate being, who took joy in watching them fight. the shards didn’t want an endless war and rebelled against the ultimate being. the greatest shard is the king of shadows, and he alone protected the ultimate being but he was defeated. in defeat he because the monarch of shadows but it was too late bc the ultimate being was dead. he partnered up with the monarch’s to fight the shards, who now called themselves the rulers. however the king of beasts and the king of demons betrayed him bc he was too powerful (as powerful as the monarch of destruction). the king of beasts ran away and the monarch of shadows killed the king of demons and put him in his shadow. the rulers came to the monarch of shadows and asked for forgiveness bc they don’t want to fight. shadows couldn’t make a decision and the rulers drove out the other monarch’s. shadows went to them and was accepted by the dragon. they went to earth to build an army to fight back against the rulers and destroyed earth. the rulers don’t want that and used a cup of reincarnation to turn back time 10 years, creating hunters and gates to increase the mana and durability of the world. it didn’t really work, as in response the monarch’s took human bodies. the beserk dragon and shadows weren’t able to find a strong enough vessel, so a mage called the architect came to shadows and designed a system (seems like a planned algorithm) to find one. jinwoo deviated from it with his determination despite many brushes with death, and shadows chose him despite the architect’s disapproval. the architect used the system to gradually improve his body as a vessel for shadows until he got his heart in the return of the double dungeon. so now jinwoo is immortal and has fully come into the powers and the og monarch of shadows is off to take a real long nap. the other monarch’s didn’t stand a chance!

okay this is absolutely insane! i honestly really appreciate the power scaling as jinwoo got stronger and as he finally got his full powers, bc there are always things just stronger than him in a way that’s not just�� the author scrambling to make up obstacles. i’m really glad he got to talk to his dad, but it was so sad that he died :(((( his new army is sick, still absolutely love the fact that all of his shadows are entirely obsessed with him lol. i also really like that the global effects of all of this are done pretty well, with other country’s hunters and organizations all vying for control. ngl red-haired dragon man is pretty darn cool�� (hide spoiler)]
