Dmitri Aw shucks! I wanted to trash Dan Brown but it seems others have already done it. Cool review and links!

Daren That first link is brilliant Michael.

Michael Perkins I got through a couple Brown books, just to be in the loop about what people were talking about, but is was painful. His writing style defends itself against being read.

Terence M - [Quot libros, quam breve tempus!] I read The Da Vinci Code in about 2005; it was worth 2-Stars when I loaded my books in GR in 2011. Since then I've tried and dnf'd four other Brown books and won't consider any more.

Same, although for the second I was in Borneo, staying in some thatched cabins and found myself with a finished book, and nothing else available, only a Dan Brown cast away from a previous inhabitant!

Michael Perkins Very telling.

Jim Puskas Kudos to you for your statement "His writing style defends itself against being read."
We've all encountered books that merit such a designation â€ I came across a couple examples quite recently. Not wishing to torture myself with such tomes, I usually just abandon them, remove the record of their existence from my Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ list and pretend the episode never happened.

Michael Perkins life is too short to waste time on such books
