I love NA College books and they seem to be one of my favorite genres lately AND Rachel Van Dyken just knows how to write them.
The initial moment that Wes and Kiersten meet are one of my favorite scenes an author can put in a book. Kiersten after picking up her college packet runs smack into Wes. She has not clue who he is and he is all that sexy Wes can be.
“L.
“WDZ.
Wes was a good person. He had crap thrown at him for being the rich kid with the entourage. Just shows you not to believe everything you hear and not to make assumptions.
This book really had very little drama.
With regards to Kiersten, the thing that annoyed me was that I could not believe she did not make any attempts to find out what was wrong with Wes. Sometimes it was so obvious that Wes was not feeling well. Some of her thoughts would be “oh, he looks healthy one minute, but pale the next. I felt like she pushed it under the rug. It frustrated me.
"Until you give me a reason not to trust you, I'll always believe you. It's what people do."
I found it odd that she never saw this guy that she loved and the top football player ever play in a single game.
Rachel Van Dyken is becoming one of my favorite authors. This book was sweet, romantic, and heart breaking. Maybe the ending was predictable, but I loved it nonetheless.
Going to read my next Rachel Van Dyken book now.
