I should have liked this--dystopian novel, check; female centered, check; well-written, check, but it just never gelled for me. I didn't care for the characters, even the good mother was annoying, since she gave her psychopathic sister way too much leeway. If drugging and attempted kidnapping of your son are not enough, what is going to convince you that I'm not a good person?

I don't mind slow burns, but this was mind-numbingly slow. Nothing happened mostly as the sisters chased each other around the country. And the final cherry on top, almost all the women that they encountered were either stupid, brutal or a combination of the two.
