did not like it

** spoiler alert ** I wanted to read this series before the show started this fall.. as the books are normally better than the shows/movies, but I have to say that I was highly disappointed. I can understand why Stefan would fall for her instantly, but I thought it was kind of cheesy and far fetched that she would fall madly in love with him before she even knows anything about him. story was very flat, the main character Elana got on my nerves, and there were a few parts where I had to re-read something more than once because it just didn't make any sense. I don't have any desire to read any further, but I will probably still try watching the show however I probably won't like that either.

Feu d'Issey (Laura) Having watched the show before reading it.... show's definitely better. Your thoughts?

message 2: by Kia (new) - rated it 1 star

Kia The show is absolutely better then the book. In fact, the show isn't really even like the book. The characters and idea behind the story are the same, but the story written for the tv series is what the book should have been. I really enjoy the show. The book is horrible right?

Feu d'Issey (Laura) Yes I sefinitely felt the show is what the book should have been. Love the show, not nthe book!

Allie Agree! The show is indeed absolutely better. This book felt like a real waste of my money!

Veronica The author's writing skill is what killed it for me. It was very childish and cheezy. The characters fell flat to me and Elena is a very selfish main character. The constant "Oh, Stefan! No..." and "Oh, Elena! I'm sorry!" got on my last nerve... All of this PLUS instant-love ruined it for me. Definitely sticking to the show!

Sasha I agree entirely with this review. As for the show, there is no doubt about it being much better than the book. I love The Vampire Diaries but too bad the books weren't as good as the show!

Vanessa Dyne The show is great! Book, not so much.

Alma A the shoe is WAY better than the book and right now i'm reading the 3 book and I wish I didn't ask for it for Christmas -.-
