Riley Keough was given a very difficult task. Her mother Lisa Marie Presley asked her to help with a memoir. The tapes were all recorded, but Lisa Marie died before Riley could even begin.

If you decide to dip into this one, definitely get ahold of the audio book. Pieces of Lisa Marie's tapes are played at the beginning and end of most chapters with Julia Roberts providing the rest of her voice. Riley Keough contributes her own part of the narrative. It took me a minute to get that all straight and then I was riveted.

While she grew up in the shadow of her famous parents, Lisa Marie was a force of her own. A wife to Riley's father Danny, Michael Jackson, Nicholas Cage, and Michael Lockwood. A mother to her four beautiful babies - her greatest treasures. The ability to complete this project with such poise and class is a testament to Lisa's devotion to Riley and her other children.

There are many hard things in this memoir, but the resilience of Riley and her joy over providing Lisa with a granddaughter -- Tupelo --is the star on top of the tree. 🌟
