I needed to return to a serious world with characters I love and find comforting and this book/series fit the bill. I love Jacob, Alice, Mary, Smith, Gladys, George, and on and on, so very much. This world is serious and while the times are dark and gray, the characters bring a light and remind us that humans and humanity are the reason for so much and worth protecting.
