4� ! A very solid four stars indeed.
📸 .ᐟ₊ � overall thoughts:
Don't you just love it when a book exceeds every single one of your expectations!? I remember seeing quite a few lower ratings for this book when it first came out, so I tried to keep my expectations low when starting this. But Holly Jackson truly cannot write a bad book, this was so good!! I will say it wasn't quite as mind blowing as 'a good girl's guide to murder', as it didn't give me quite the same thrill while reading. BUT STILL. (Omg and all the Covid 19 references SENT me, I was getting flashbacks for real.)

Bel: Not gonna lie, Bel was a bit hard for me to connect with as a character, we're kind of complete opposites. She wasn't just morally grey, but she was flat out rude to so many people! I don’t support being unkind to people just because you feel like it yk. But she absolutely had character growth, and by the end I’d grown fond of her ❤️. I would definitely read another book in her pov if Holly ever writes one!
Ash: Ash is so freaking adorable (also I love his name), plus he’s BRITISH? Come on mate. And his little quirky clothing style>>> tehe. I also loved how whenever Bel tried to make him upset, but he just kept smiling like he wasn’t offended or bothered at all. He was so loyal to Bel too; I hope Ash and Bel get to have their happily ever after one day soon 🥺.

Overall, I thought the plot was very well developed, though I did manage to predict a few of the plot twists! (I think I should be a detective now� just saying.) But I was just happy that Bel turned out to be mostly wrong about Rachel, team Rachel all the way!!! Also, Holly’s books always have such insane endings, this one kind of shook me ngl. The poor Grandpa though 🤧 BUT YES, my conclusion is that even though this wasn’t the most perfect book, I still loved it SO much more than I thought I would, and I’m so happy I read it <333.

omg this review is absolutely stunning! you're so right, bel was so rude to people, for no reason. there's a difference between being not afraid to speak your mind out loud, and just simply being mean. at times, she was truly insufferable. but im glad that she had her growth, eventually. AHH ASH WAS THE BEST CHARACTER 🤭 i loved his silly way of clothing hehe. and the fact that he's British>> also, he was so patient when it came to putting up with bel haha. i wish we got a little more of him! i didn't enjoy it as much as i did agggtm, and for me the plot twists were pretty predictable. the only one that really shocked me was the one about carter. anyways, I'm so so happy you loved trorp! 💌 and you def would make a great detective <3
