Wings of Starlight (Disney Fairies)

Wings of Starlight is a magical story of Pixie Hollow, where we follow the soon-to-be queen, Clarion, and how she navigates her heart and her duty to the fairies of Pixie Hollow. The love story of Clarion and Milori is admirable, tragic, and so pure. It felt like reading a cute Disney fairytale movie, which my childhood-self is completely in love with and very grateful for finally being able to get the backstory and how their tragic ending came to be.
With that being said, I needed so much more of everything and I was at times a bit disappointed. The beginning was too slow and it sometimes felt dragged out. I needed more romance, yearning, and depth from the characters and the relationship between Clarion and Milori. YA can really be a hit or miss for me, but this book felt more like a children's book than a YA, which is why I'm giving it 3 stars. The ending was sad, but I actually thought I was going to be more emotionally invested and ruined than I was.
All in all, I had a fun little time reading it and because the movies are very special and nostalgic to me, I'm very happy that I read it but I don't think I would read it again.

Pixie Hollow and Tinkerbell are so nostalgic to me!! my childhood! I want to cry just by the thought of the book and the memories that it brings. I literally had Pixie Hollow stickers all over my bedroom walls when I was little. A tragic star-crossed lover trope - I'm going to be a shell of a human being after finishing it because I know how it's going to end, but I'm still ecstatic about reading it. And the cover - to die for!!! One of my most special and anticipated releases of the year. Wish me luck!! (emotional damage incoming)
