Perfect cowboy romance!! Exactly what I needed!!
It's got a little bit of everything; witty banter, found family, and a little enemies to lovers! Written so well too. It grabbed my attention right from the start which is impressive considering my lack of focus lately. The introduction to the story felt effortless!
I love how I can relate to both Cash and Mollie. even though they're complete opposites.
Cash with his sense of duty and mountains of responsibility; him being apprehensive about starting his own family because he feels like he already has too many people to take care of & who depend on him.
And Mollie, who feels lonely and lost, anxious about making the wrong choices for her life, and feels like she doesn't belong anywhere or with anyone. The stomachache she gets because she unconsciously always have fear about the uncertainty of her future Is SO real. I'm afraid I can relate to that way too much lmao
Seeing them talk through their personal problems with each other was healing for me in a way. I enjoyed their little moments of vulnerability.
Also, does this remind anyone of The Simple Wild?! Daughter trying to connect with her estranged father in his little town. Finding out father has a family consisting of the people who live in that little town, and she realizes those people know her father better than her... butting heads with the father's grumpy right-hand man? Right-hand man thinking the daughter is just a spoiled city girl? Mom who fled the little town and took the daughter with her because that life was not for her?
It's not a bad thing especially because I just finished reading The Simple Wild and was in need of something similar, but I couldn't help but think to myself didn't I JUST read this? 🤣
Anyways - very charming book and a perfect little yeehaw romcom. This was a near 5 stars for me, but the thing in the middle with her contacting Palmer put me off a bit. She didn't do anything wrong, I think it's just a me thing. I think it would've been better if it'd taken a different direction. But otherwise very good!

"I really like mollie. is it bad that I'd rather the ranch go to the rich city girl with a sparkly boots business than to the cowboy who's been working his butt off at the ranch to support his whole family and has more connection to it than the girl? 😭"
