Faith Dignazio That's kind of snarky and unnecessary.

message 3: by Jen (new) - added it

Jen If you had then you would notice the ceramic vase (relevant to story) and the face instead of just blobs of color lol

message 4: by Adrienne (new) - added it

Adrienne Galloway Weird this shows up in the reviews when it’s just a petty comment about a book you haven’t even read. This isn’t FB or IG where you just comment on shit.

emma Jen wrote: "If you had then you would notice the ceramic vase (relevant to story) and the face instead of just blobs of color lol"

emma Adrienne wrote: "Weird this shows up in the reviews when it’s just a petty comment about a book you haven’t even read. This isn’t FB or IG where you just comment on shit."

message 18: by Stephanie ~~ (new) - added it

Stephanie ~~ Bite your tongue. The way your blurb reads at first glance, it's rude and completely unnecessary. Our creep of a "President" has just decided it's toootally unnecessary to celebrate Black History month. We've got hate crimes and racist slurs run rampant here in the United States. I've personally looked forward to this book for months and months. Just received a gifted copy from a dear friend in New York. Let's hold our tongues, our snark, and our unnecessary inner dialogue and save our criticism for what really matters. Hope both of us enjoy this beauty. We're lucky to have such brilliant authors publishing at the moment.

message 19: by Andee (new) - added it

Andee @stephanie get a grip and power the f down. Oh, and bite your tongue…seriously? That’s a pretty crass, controlling demand. We have freedom of speech in this country. If you don’t like it, ignore it or don’t read it. She’s just speaking to the trend of ugly book covers, which is precisely what popped into my head when I saw it. Like, what’s with all the ugly splotchy color covers of late? Reminds me of those hideous sweaters everyone wore in the mid eighties that were a constant presence on the Cosby Show, and various other sitcoms and tv shows of the era. Going off on a weird rant about race issues in relation to someone commenting on the cover art (all art is totally subjective…you do realize that, yes?) of a book while trying to bully and control the reviewer is so petty and strange. You don’t see the hypocrisy in your demand to not be snarky or criticize, while you do precisely that in a condescending tone. P.S. Totally off the topic, but you brought it up - You don’t have to like the man, but he is the President of the United States, because over half the country voted for him. As a person, I don’t care for what I see in him either, but I think he’s an outstanding businessman and negotiator. If he gets our economy on track, brings down prices, and gets us out of a bunch of wars and stops the fleecing of our tax dollars by politicians, then he will be one of the greatest men to ever hold the office.

message 20: by Rosalind (new)

Rosalind actually less than half the country voted for him, Trump won a plurality of votes not the majority

message 21: by Kim (new) - rated it 4 stars

Kim This cover is not blobs of color. It is the silhouette of a woman in a broken clay jar.
