Lisa This was a junior high school read along with The Red Pony. Memories . . .
At least this one didn't make me cry.

Jennifer Welsh Thanks, Lisa. I think I’m slowly coming back to both reading and gr� :). I didn’t realize this was going to be a parable. I probably would’ve loved it in JHS, I wish I’d read it then. Was Red Pony a parable, too?

If memory serves (JHS was 5 decades ago for me), this is a literal tale--coming of age and relationships between men in the family. And the pony . . .
