I’m sorry, Rupi,
For hating you from afar,
For women are,
More often
Than not�
Too severe on their own sex.
Write on, write on your men,
And your period cramps,
And your men even more.
For whatever you do,
It’s not enough
To outwit
Our man Charlie’s
Crippling misogyny,
Rampant shittalking,
And drunken rambling.
They call you
The harbinger of doom,
The madwoman,
And him a visionary.

Man, the way you describe Bukowski makes me feel like I dodged a bullet by never reading him. Also, the 'mini teenage semi stalker' bit had me wheezing.

Thank you! I haven't read Bukowski's prose pieces yet, but it's truly baffling to me how his shitty poems get so much hype while we hate on Rupi Kaur or other so-called "Instagram poets" like her. For what it seems, dude invented Instagram poetry before Instagram's creators were born.
