DON'T TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY, IT IS JUST MY OPINION!!

I think the main reason why I didn't like this book as much as I thought I will is all the great reviews and people obssesing over how cute this story is. I really don't know what was I expecting. The rom-com kinda love? Adorable main characters, especially the mmc? Well, it was nothing like this.
I went in with high expectations and I am absolutely dissapointed... In this review, I'll tell you why...


જ⁀➴ᡣ𐭩 what i didn't like:
🪩dialogues: if you're writing about teenagers, at least make them sound like teenagers. I'm not saying there should be swearing all over the book and poorly constructed sentences, but oh please. No one talks like they did in this book!! The talks felt so forced sometimes, and I don't know �� maybe it's a problem with me. But I still didn't enjoy that.
🪩fake dating: Listen, I LOVE the fake dating trope. But, idk, this time it felt SO UNREALISTIC and I can't really tell you why.
🪩no chemistry: Guys knew themselfs for 5 weeks and thought that it's normal to fall in love with each other in such a short time. LIKE, THEY LITERALLY SAY "I LOVE YOU" AT THE END! I am so done with teenagers saying that to each other in YA books. You know each other just A FEW MONTHS, and in this book, it's weeks. I wouldn't be so angry because of this if not the fact that there was no chemistry. They had their cute moments but everytime I ended up cringing.

🪩side characters: The only reason I actually ended reading the whole book is because of the side characters. Anthony, Lucas, John, Jordan and Hoshiko were really fun and well-written characters, especially Anthony (he was the one that made me finish Dungeons and Drama ngl 🤭). I guess that it's all for this category because I can't think of anything else I enjoyed in this book. Maybe Riley and Nathan did have some cute moments but it still felt more like a contemporary fiction than a romance book.

💐 Riley �� So. freaking. dumb. I know I'm not an expert in telling who a person likes and I know that when you have a crush you don't actually think they may be in love with you, but COME ON NOW. It was so obvious that Nathan liked her, and this girl saw NO SIGNS. She was so annoying I wanted to ball my eyes out! She made every situation about herself (there's literally a scene where she thinks that everyone should stop what they're doing and think about her dad who is in the hospital (nothing serious happened) like the world revolved around her or something) and she was so selfish and a pick me!!

💐 Nathan �� I was expecting the "Wes Bennet", "Aaron Warner" type of guy, the one you get to be obssesed with, another book boyfriend, but ended up being dissapointed. I liked Nathan, I really did. But he wasn't anything special to be honest. A guy that could be a supporting character if you ask me.

I don't think this book deserves a longer review than what I already wrote. So I'm just going to make that clear �� it wasn't the worst book I've ever read. GOSH NO, IT WASN'T. The cheat sheet was 100 times worse that Dungeons and Drama. But, imo, it was a really bad book. Fortunately, I had a partner in crime, bb lea!! Reading this book without you wouldn't be the same and I am so glad be both hated it haha!! I hope we're going to do more buddy reads in future!! 💋🎀🍒
