it was amazing
bookshelves: contemporary-faves

Why was this so freaking good? I’ve been in a reading slump, starting and dnf’ing at least 20 books within the first 50 pages. I started this one thinking it’d be the same but nope, it pulled me in and I couldn’t stop until it was finished.

This book is hot, ya’ll. I do not recommend reading on public transport. 😂 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Ms Hazelwood’s smut writing skills have leveled up. 🫠

By far the dirtiest book of hers I’ve read, and I think I’ve read most (maybe all?) of them. It packs an emotional punch too - good angst, good drama, and although there’s poor communication I understood the reasons why. The circumstances that lead to them getting together are a little hard to believe (with Pen) but it made everything just work so I can’t complain too much.

Both characters are great - they felt real, and I loved them both. They were mature about things, and for some reason the maturity led to tension that I was unaware could exist in romance. 🔥

I felt like the end could’ve been fleshed out a bit more (I want more of both of them! 😭) I can’t give this anything less than 5⭐️ though because so few books pull me in like this one did.
