really liked it

"within your eyes, i'm alive
you're witness to my being
your gaze erases all my crimes
i forget the times i've been
untrusting, defensive, and unkind"

Thunder and Daisy by Mercedes Paradiso is an illustrated collection of poetry that's about the storms we face and the flowers that bloom in their aftermath. It's an emotional, meaningful, and inspiring collection that follows the journey of heartbreak and feeling lost to finding yourself and love in the process.

I really enjoyed the writing style. It's mostly metaphorical, which I always enjoy, but it's not too hard to understand. It's accessible but poetic, and it's the perfect book to read if you feel too alone and lost in life and in your emotions. It's a lot about breakups - healing from them and finding yourself afterwards. About self-growth and the power in moving on.

I felt like a few of the poems lacked depth and focused a bit too much on the rhymes, and I wish the illustrations were a bit more detailed, but overall, this is a beautiful and inspiring poetry collection.
