I Did Warn Her

After reading the author’s debut novel “She Started It, which I absolutely loved, I couldn’t wait to read this newest release. While I did enjoy this book, I think I’ve just gotten to a point where I’m a little tired of locked room (yacht) mysteries. This story had many POV’s to keep track of (which was fairly easy once the story took off), but then I felt it started to drag on through the middle. Now, I will admit that I didn’t read this book as fast as I usually do because of other life activities going on, so I’m not sure if that affected how I felt each time I picked the book back up
To briefly sum this story up, we have Sasha who gets a dream job on the billionaire yacht ‘Ophelia. Sasha thinks this job as a stewardess on the yacht will be an escape from her past. Little does Sasha know that she has walked into another nightmare.
Upon arriving on the ‘Ophelia, Sasha meets all her coworkers/stewardesses, and amazingly they look exactly like she does. Sasha no longer stands out as being blond and beautiful, because the other stewardesses are blond and beautiful as well. They are exact replicas of each other. Sasha also finds out that these other women that she works with are not very friendly, and they are very cutthroat. How will Sasha survive this journey in the middle of the Atlantic ocean when women and items go disappearing almost daily?
If you like locked room mysteries, with lots of finger pointing 🫵- then this is the book for you! Although I didn’t enjoy it as much as the author’s debut, it was still a fun read and I think many who are new to this genre will enjoy it even more than I did.
Many thanks to NetGalley, William Morrow, and the author for a DRC of this book in which I had the pleasure of reading. All opinions are my own.

Thanks so much, Darla!! 🤗

Thank you, Fairuz! 💗 I’ve barely read at all this week, but so far I think I’m going to really enjoy this one!

Thank you so much, Dutchie! 💗 I think locked room mysteries have become overkill these past couple of years. I might need a break myself.

Thank you very much, Kaceey! 💗

Thanks, Jayme! I really enjoyed her first one, however, this one just didn’t work out so well for me.

Thank you so much, Cara!!! 💝

Thank you so much, Mary Beth! 💗 I hope that you are loving your current read as well!

You’re very welcome, Melissa! This book was good, but not great (for me anyways). If you didn’t like her last book, then I don’t think this book would work for you either unfortunately.

Thank you very much, Rosh! 💗 This was/is a very common trope, but I was still hoping to enjoy it more than I did considering how much I enjoyed the author’s debut. I will still keep my eyes open for her next book though!

Thank you so much, Lisa! 💗 I say to still give this book a go, as you may enjoy it more than I did. Plus, she is a very good author- especially for locked room mysteries. :)

Cheryl, now that you mention it- I don’t think I’ve been a big fan of thrillers that were on boats either 🤔. I am very glad to hear that Ware’s “The Woman In Cabin 10 is going to be on Netflix 🥳. Now, that sounds exciting!! I will also be looking forward to the sequel as well. Like you, I’m a Ruth Ware fan too 😉 Happy Reading to you!

Thank you very much, Shelley! 💗

Thanks so much, Jan! I agree- not all locked room mysteries are created equal. You might enjoy this one more than I did. I’m not sure why but something just missed the mark for me with this one.

Thank you, Kat! 💝 There sure has been a lot of locked room mystery books lately. I think I’ve had my fill for a while too

Thank you so much, Maureen! 💗

Thank you very much, Debbie! 💝

Thank you so much, Jayne! I agree, there are way too many locked-room mysteries out there.

Thanks so much, Darla!! 🤗"
Too bad the yacht trope is overused. Thanks for an honest and helpful review, Rachel.🤗

You’re very welcome, Darla! I hope you enjoy this one if you do read it! 😊

Thank you so much, Federico! <3 The finger pointing in this book was pretty thrilling, but I definitely liked the author’s debut much better.
