I get why some may find this book useful. However, to me, Erin鈥檚 tone and style come across as belittling, insensitive and rude. I understand it鈥檚 a style, but it鈥檚 just not for me.
It also frustrates me to no end that she constantly calls herself a 鈥淩esident Bible Scholar鈥�. She has a BA in theatre for crying out loud. That鈥檚 like me, who cooks only cereal, telling everyone to give me the title, 鈥淢ichelin Star Chef鈥�. It鈥檚 a lie, meant to make her look better than she is and qualified for something she鈥檚 most definitely not. Plain and simple. It drives me crazy.

I guess if you give this book the same rating you gave to To Kill A Mockingbird and The Catcher in The Rye, it might be a better fit for other readers.

It鈥檚 one thing to say a book isn鈥檛 for you, but to tack on a personal insult about the author is just tacky and unnecessary. It鈥檚 giving hater.
Going out on a limb to guess you didn鈥檛 *actually* read this book and just like to do drive-bys to trash books that you simply don鈥檛 get. 鈥淣ot for you鈥� doesn鈥檛 equal shitty book, and your absolute ignorance on Erin鈥檚 professional history shows here. 鉁岎煆�

Wow. I don't always read reviews. But when I read this one, my first thought was how insulting yours was. Critiquing a book based on its style, content, mechanics, etc. is one thing. Taking personal jabs at the author is another.
You don鈥檛 have to go to seminary to be an equipped Biblical scholar. Jesus uses all people 鉂わ笍One of his key disciples was a former tax collector and became a writer of one of the most crucial gospels in His word. So not sure I understand your logic with questioning her credibility.
A whole lot of negativity and rudeness in this review for someone whose chief complaint is that the author is insensitive and rude. Congrats on Jesus making you the arbiter of who gets to be a Bible Scholar. Since you鈥檙e such an expert, maybe go read Luke 6:42.
