Feeling the same way.

I finished this book this morning and can’t praise it enough! It was everything I love in a good book - nicely written, thought provoking, amazing characterisation but the single word I would use to describe it is intriguing. I just didn’t know what to expect when I started it; however it reeled me in page after page, after page. The end wasn’t unexpected but it was nonetheless heart wrenching. I’m going to have a look at McConaghy’s other books now. I see that Carien Spagnuolo says good things about Migrations…perhaps this will be my next one.

I loved this book. The characters and the landscape will stay with me.

I know this book will wreck me, and I need to be properly prepared. A day with nothing on the calendar so I can absorb it fully.

I get that. I have only read Migrations, and it moved me and disturbed me for DAYS after finishing. I had a book hangover! It's on my permanent book shelf. I still have to read Once There Were Wolves, but have been putting it off. I'm kind of afraid!

I'm listening to this on audio now because of you, and it is so far so good. I love the different narrators. Thank you for your review.

I just finished this bc of your rec! I will say for me it was very slow paced until what felt like the end. I loved the stories and the characters but the writing style wasn’t for me. Still gave it 4 stars.
