The Queen of Sugar Hill by Reshonda Tate
I’m not a big historical fiction girly but this story was so captivating and interesting. I loved learning Hattie’s story being the first black person to win an Oscar. I loved learning about her, its heartbreaking to see what she had go to through being the only black women in the room but it was also empowering. She shows so much strength and perseverance. Follow your dreams no matter what. PERIOD. This book should be a school reading in theatre class. This book was a great read.
