One of the reasons I have stopped reading GR reviews, at least for the moment, is some people are too bloody good at deconstructing a book and I can't help but spot all the faults when I get round to reading it myself- or books can even be posthumously killed off as well. I think 6 months is a decent period to return and read reviews for a book that you like or don't, when your own opinion is solidified OFF TOPIC OFF TOPIC
Uhhhh Murakami is a guy w-who w-ho TOO MUCH ATTENTION TO THE AUTHOR AND NOT THE BOOK
I read a quote from Bergman who ANECTODAL INSUBSTANTIAL

Wow this is really, really, not fun.

I read the following Ingmar Bergman quote: "A French critic cleverly wrote that "with Autumn Sonata Bergman does Bergman." It is witty but unfortunate. For me, that is. I think it is only too true that Bergman (Ingmar, that is) did a Bergman...." It's really unfortunate that artists without a voice can be labelled "derivative" whereas auteurs are then "too themselves". What a silly state of affairs and a blanket criticism of everyone at the same time.

That's all I will say without warning you that if you are susceptible to absorption of other people's critiques, just wait and read the book yourself.

PS. What an asshole!
