5 stars! The second one in a week - surprising? I know!
Stop, that had me so close to sobbing for him. He deserved every bit of happiness he got his way, actually, he deserves so much more.
Please, that was hilarious. How does one come up with something like that? There is absolutely no way.
He calls her "baby" or "tabby". ðŸ¤
Tell me why I usually hate it when someone calls their significant other baby, both in books and in real life, but I was giggling when Rhys did it?? Pretty privilege is real, y'all. The only reason he got away with it in my eyes was because it was cute to think of a bulky man (I mean in terms of muscular - was not meant to be an insult, so don't even try) calling his wife "baby".
The romance was so good! It wasn't too fast or too slow. It was just right in my opinion, they had enough time to build a relationship from their "enemies" phase. The tension and the banter was top notch.
Also, a man who's shy and calm in public, but also has a filthy mouth in the confines of the house (basically with his wife) is something I never knew I needed to read again. Reminds me of Kai from King of Pride.
Milo was such a cute kid. It was so sweet to see that there were two people that would do anything for him.
Also, I loved how Erika wasn't shown as the villain, instead she was shown as a positive character that lost her way.
This book is why I love marriage of convenience so much. There's just something about two people marrying even through they don't want to, but then they end up with everything that ever needed.
I was enjoying this book so much to the point that I didn't even look to see the chapter number and then my eyes go to the "epilogue" and I'm start thinking about how fast the end came. I'm not ready to let go of these three - well, four ;) - yet.
Elsie Silver instantly earned my respect with her reader's note. The amount of care and attention she gave to themes that could potentially be traumatic to readers. Consulting with a lawyer and having a clinical therapist read this book before it was published is seriously something that shows how much she cares about making sure that her books touched sensitive topics in a mature way. As a reader, this is what I would call dedication!

pre-read: WANT TO READ is an understatement, this is more like a NEED TO READ, so that's exactly what I'm going to do.
