thanks to Dab I now have to live with the knowledge that even if Cosmin (the only interesting character in this book) gets his own romance with Phaedra, I can't read it because he probably pees his pants. On purpose.

how disappointing to read a book that neither tells nor shows character or plot development. what was even in this book? it felt like a series of fanfiction one-shots, snaps in time that were fun for the writer, who already knows her characters, but leave the new readers out. And the time jumps, PLEASE. Every chapter is one month later, two weeks later, four months later, and "Klaus and I have been talking. I'm basically in love with him." Like???? SHOW ME THAT???? Show me her fight with Phaedra, her interactions with her parents- ANYTHING. I love the bones of this story but the execution is not it. Even if Klaus' POV had been removed it would have been better. Too many romances now fall into the trap of dual POV so they can make sure the reader has no doubt about anyone's feelings.

Natalia is not a professional woman and can't control herself despite all her internal monologuing about how bad an idea it is to get involved, casually or otherwise, with an exec from a field she's supposed to report on.

Klaus is supposed to be an Ice King but instead is obsessed with her from the jump, but because we barely see them interact on page other than moments of jealousy and insecurity, I can't understand why they even like each other beyond the physical.

I can't connect to these characters and I'm mad about it, because I wanted this to be amazing. It's not even the story's fault- it's clumsy writing and terrible time skips that kill this romance.
