Phantasma (Wicked Games, #1)

With a forbidden attraction in the midst of an unpredictable deadly competition it's no wonder so many are singing the praises of the Wicked Games series. It has a little something to satiate of variety of tastes.
Phantasma has rolled into the big easy... 💜💚💛💜💚💛
A heart and a key would set me free. ️❤
Ophelia is a necromancer who jumped into the deadly competition known as Phantasma in hopes of locating her missing sister. She'll need every advantage to survive all nine levels. Phantasma is like a haunted house on steroids there are terrifying haunts, ballrooms, secret passages, and the Devils tasked with running things seem to know more about Ophelia than she's comfortable with. When a phantom offers her assistance in exchange for her help in locating the key to his freedom she agrees in desperation. The phantom named Blackwell is trapped in Phantasma and doesn't have full access to his memories. Ophelia and Blackwell begin a steamy affair that has the potential to become a liability because the only thing more dangerous than facing Phantasma's levels is falling in love within its walls.
I adored Poe the ghost cat.🐈⬛ It speaks to my affinity for felines that even a ghost cat stole my heart and all the scenes he was in.
Souls that are dead cannot cross roses red. 👻🌹
I was all caught up on my ALCs for once and decided to give this audiobook a go. I wish I had read a physical copy instead because the narrator grated on my nerves often. Her style just seemed ill fitting given the material. There are tons of books out there with games or trials at the center, but this was a creative take and kept me engaged. There was reason behind the challenges presented in different levels, and I found it interesting to mull over the hows and whys. Be aware that the steamy scenes are plentiful and graphic so consider your own personal preferences in that regard.🔥
This surprised me many times, although the biggest reveal is easy to see coming. The cover art is a perfect fit and eye catching. 🌹🌹💀🌹🌹
I'm glad I decided to enter Phantasma blind and without any expectations.
