it was amazing

Text by Cambria Herbert blew me away! What an amazing read.

Text is the first book I have read by Cambria Hebert. I saw recommendations for this book on Facebook, Amazon and Barnes & Noble. The synopsis sounded intriguing and I had to do that “one click buy. I am a huge fan of romantic suspense and military romance. This book had all these elements plus a sizzling romance. Although the genre says New Adult Romantic Suspense this book seemed much more mature than the general New Adult books. The characters were in their mid twenties and had a very mature outlook on life. Both were very centered and knew who they were, what their flaws were, and how they handled those flaws.

Honor Calhoun is a romance author. She spends many hours holed up in her house writing and on the internet promoting her books. Her outlet is to run everyday on a nature trail in back of her house. It is a daily ritual that frees her mind, relieves her stress, and gives her inner peace. Her peace is shattered when she is attacked, abducted, and thrown into a deep ground hole in the woods. She fought the attack with all her strength. She kept her wits during the attack and managed to get her attackers cell phone out of his pocket without him knowing. This is her only chance of staying alive. With a spotty signal and a dying battery, the hope is very slim. Being under ground in a hole, in the woods, the signal has very few bars, if any at all. One single text manages to come through and it is her only hope. That text changes everything.

Nathan Reed is a marine, now stationed state side in Pennsylvania. He craves the monotonous duty as a weapons Inspector/Instructor. He is happy being stationed on a smaller base, small town living, and his regular Friday night poker game with the guys. This Friday is no exception and he is looking forward to his down time with the guys. One late member who was supposed to bring the beer and one text changes everything. A text that could mean a woman’s death. He will do everything in his power to save her life. No matter what the cost. After all he is a Marine.

Text is an edgy book that keeps the reader on the edge of their seat throughout the book. The danger is frightening. The author portrays this danger in a very convincing way and has the readers shaking with fear for Honor’s life. The suspense is through the roof.

The interaction between the characters is intense. Both characters are strong, honorable, and perfect for each other. How they combine their forces to stay alive is amazing.

I absolutely loved this book. The book is well written, the plot is intense, the characters are amazing, and the romance is perfect.

Like I said, I loved this book. It is the first book I have read by Cambria Hebert and I was impressed. I have purchased the other three books in the Take It Off series and look forward to reviewing them soon!

I highly recommend this book!
