I have tried reading this blasted book three times. I know it's me. Moorcock does a wonderful job of creating an alternate England. But, for me, something is missing. I'm not sure. Maybe its the whole take on Elizabeth. I don't know. Moorcock does write an excellent Dr. Dee, however.

Carol Storm It's not just you. The hero is evil, the queen is a slut, and all the genuinely nice people die horrible deaths. What was this guy's problem????

Christine I don't know. I tried to read one of his other books once upon a time, an Elric book, and it didn't grab me either.

Carol Storm It's funny, I don't even read fantasy, I just grabbed this book in high school because I liked the cover art. First and last Moorcock book ever!

Melvin Rodríguez-Rodríguez Moodcock is better known for being butthurt about Tolkien's influence on the genre than for producing something memorable.
