I feel like starting this reading year with this one, knowing I will love it
I wish many authors who can't even understand what basic decency, loyalty, and love, whether platonic or romantic, truly is, would read this book

This book is even better the second time. I never read better characters, so amazingly developed, all the relationships in this book are so lovely and real and Ari and Dante break my heart because... they just work so well, they are so realistic and loveable and you just get them. It is fantastic how in a book without countless descriptions you understand them so well and there is enough of proving words by actions, and damn, I just really love this book okay. It is so sincere. Forever my favourite relationships and characters.
Oh. My. God.
I fallen in love with this book so quickly but it was getting better and better and the last part struck right in the feelings. This book is perfect, such a fast, unputdownable read. I loved every single character in this book (well apart from the obvious assholes). Every single relationship, every single character was either relatable, or so well portrayed that you understood them, everyone was different, and the relationships were so heartwarming. I loved boys' relationships with their parents, with each other parents, with each other... I loved everything about this book. I loved how they both dealt differently with... discovering the secrets of the universe. And the ending, god this ending. I won't ever forget about this book.
Nothing was overlooked in this book, everything was explained and the actions were accurate to the personality of each character. Ari's reaction to that awful thing that happened near the end made me quickly fall in love with him even more than I already was, Dante was so loveable since the beginning. Ari and Dante were so different on the outside but it was so easy to love both their characters equally.
I loved how realistic this book was, I loved the sad, the happy parts. I loved that everything made sense, there was no cliche, annoying behaviours or unnecessary angst, everything that is off putting. I loved the different types of pure love between characters, the loyalty, I loved how characters reacted to certain situations. I loved absolutely everything about this book and it is a definite future re-read. I recommend this book to EVERYONE.
See the amount of "love" I used. It should tell you everything. This book is to fall in love with.

Quotes O.R. Liked

“I wanted to tell them that I'd never had a friend, not ever, not a real one. Until Dante. I wanted to tell them that I never knew that people like Dante existed in the world, people who looked at the stars, and knew the mysteries of water, and knew enough to know that birds belonged to the heavens and weren't meant to be shot down from their graceful flights by mean and stupid boys. I wanted to tell them that he had changed my life and that I would never be the same, not ever. And that somehow it felt like it was Dante who had saved my life and not the other way around. I wanted to tell them that he was the first human being aside from my mother who had ever made me want to talk about the things that scared me. I wanted to tell them so many things and yet I didn't have the words. So I just stupidly repeated myself. "Dante's my friend.”

“And it seemed to me that Dante's face was a map of the world. A world without any darkness.
Wow, a world without darkness. How beautiful was that?”
