I like the bunny in the cover.
A collection of short stories by renowned Julio Cortázar, multi prose master and argentine semi-legendary writer of its time.
He’s good, can't deny that, but, like Borges, I just can’t stand his style of writing; way too weird and convoluted for my taste. I still want to read his masterpiece Hopscotch, someday.
Go for the Best, consider the Weird, whatever the Meh.

Me gusta el conejo en la portada.
Una colección de cuentos cortos por el renombrado Julio Cortázar, maestro multiprosista y escritor argentino semilegendario de su época.
Es bueno, no puede negarse, pero, como Borges, no puedo soportar su estilo de escritura; demasiado extraño y enrevesado para mi gusto. Igual quiero leer su obra maestra Rayuela, algún día.
Ir por lo Mejor, considerar lo Raro, loquesea lo Meh.

Writing style can absolutely make or break an otherwise solid read. Excellent review, Federico!

The bunny on the cover is by Albrecht Dürer, a German artist who lived during the Renaissance period. (Sorry if I'm jumping in to tell you something you already know!)

Thank you Berengaria! Didn't know. In honesty, I know nothing of any artists, not even the famous ones. My knowledge in art limits to naming the basic colors, mixing them is already out of my scope lol.

Like Borges, he is one of the greatest argentinian authors. The book may be great, it's just not for me.
I think I like the bunny too Federico. It deserves our appreciation 😌

Nice review, Federico! I liked the bunny on the cover too, but won't touch the collection after seeing the number of weirds and mehs. :D

Muy buena reseña. Comparto tu valoración de Casa tomada, aunque me pareció genial también el cuento Lejana (Diario de Alina Reyes), y la analogía con las ciudades de Buda y Pest, unidas por el puente para conformar la actual Budapest.

Probablemente sea bueno ese cuento también. Lamentablemente, como con Borges, la mitad de las cosas que dice no las entiendo. Esos señores transitan otro plano. Tal vez debería releerlo para entenderlo como analogía, pero ni a palos xD

Muy buena reseña, Federico! Hasta el momento solo he leído un par de cuentos del autor, uno de ellos fue Casa tomada que mencionas aquí como el que más te gustó, aunque aún así no cumplió tus expectativas; desconozco cómo será mi experiencia al leerlo, pero me das una idea de lo que puedo esperar.

Para mi es como Borges, la mayoria del tiempo no entiendo de que demonios esta hablando. Siempre escucho que Rayuela es una obra maestra, asi que tal vez lo mejor seria empezar por ahi, pero no se, todavia no la lei. Gracias Axl, igualmente!

lo que decís que es raro, es raro. también me gusta mucho "Lejana", como a Pedro y el cuento "Ómnibus" me encanta aunque es más sencillo.
