Great review! Does this end on a cliffhanger? Can I read this part even though the next isn't out yet?

I think better to wait for book 2. It is not exactly cliffhanger but it does feel like "to be continued" ending, as it is ended in the middle of them starting a mission. Vol. 2 will be out later this month, I think. So not long time to wait :-)
