MY PRECIOUS IS NOW SIGNED BY TAHEREH!!! I can die of happiness now <3

In case y'all didn't know, not only was this book optioned by Warner Bros as a movie, it has now been optioned as a TV SHOW BY ABC STUDIOS -with Tahereh as a producer.

This better happen. I am not joking. I am tired of great books (cough, cough: The Song of the Lioness Quartet and The Dust Lands Trilogy: Blood Red Road; Rebel Heart; Raging Star) not becoming movies or TV shows after they are optioned. Dear book gods (and I know you exist because you inspired Tahereh to write this series), make this real. Yes, I know TV/movies don't always make great adaptations and the books are 99.9% of the time better, but please do it anyway. Because I need this.

Oh, and if you decide to cast Alex Pettyfer as Warner I would be cool with that.

Original fan-girl praise (because I am incapable of actually writing a true unbiased, unaffected review for this series):
Okay, I have not properly reviewed this series since I read it a year ago (and I don't think I ever can because it would be ridiculously long and the book is so quotable that I would literally be citing the entire thing) but Shatter Me is one of my favorite series of ALL TIME. And it has my FAVORITE LOVE INTEREST of ANY BOOK I'VE EVER READ. Butttt, to anyone considering it, watch this: . I just found that fan video the other day and I can't stop watching it. I'm sorry but if that doesn't make you want to read this book you do not have a soul. READ. THIS. BOOK. You will either love it or hate it (depending on how you feel about prose) but if you love it than O.M.G. you will love it like you've loved nothing else.
Oh, and for those of you who have already read the series: (view spoiler)
PS this review basically is a dedication to Alex Pettyfer as Warner. YOU ARE WELCOME.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

“You’ve been on the edge of insanity your entire life, haven’t you? So many people called you crazy you actually started to believe it. You wondered if they were right. You wondered if you could fix it. You thought if you could just try a little harder, be a little better, smarter, nicer—you thought the world would change its mind about you. You blamed yourself for everything.”

“I spent my life folded between the pages of books.
In the absence of human relationships I formed bonds with paper characters. I lived love and loss through stories threaded in history; I experienced adolescence by association. My world is one interwoven web of words, stringing limb to limb, bone to sinew, thoughts and images all together. I am a being comprised of letters, a character created by sentences, a figment of imagination formed through fiction.”

"Rereading for the first time ever (I've been saving it until I got through most of my TBR as a reward, taken me 6 yrs). Going to binge the entire series (I read it back when ended at book 3) and I am SO. EXCITED. The only thing is I literally have no time anymore (no childcare and writing new series every spare second) so it ends up being a chapter or two a night before I crash. That's okay, more time with Warner;P"

It's definitely worth it Sarah:) People tend to have a strong reaction one way or the other on this series, but it's sooo good!

Yea, I know what you mean, Samantha! People have two reactions to the writing style for these books -some people can't stand the constant metaphors/verse/prose-style and call it "creative writing 101" etc. but for me I loved it and it of course helped that the love interest literally makes this series. People will either love or hate this one, it's just one of those books:) Happy to see you are giving it a try!

I think the storyline sounds really good, and I absolutely love the cover art, so I'll definitely be buying this one soon, hopefully next week along with a few other books!

YESSSSS! I'M SO EXCITED, MICHELLE!!! But in all honesty most people will not fall for Warner until the second book -or novella 1.5:( I was biased because I do tend to fall for the anti-heroes in a lot of books and I really enjoyed Tahereh's writing style even though I know a lot of people think it's like "nails on a chalkboard" with the repetition and prose. But I am totally keeping my fingers crossed the second read is better, and if you end up reading second/third and or first novella you will see what Warner was really doing/why he was doing certain things in book one <3

In the meantime I am deciding which much beloved (by me), but underappreciated series I should recommend in return. Muwahahahahaha

Favorite romance of all time, and one of best trilogies ever!!!! Gah, can they make the movie already? Dying here:D

Haha send it my way:D I love underrated books that turn out to be amazing!!!

I can't agree more, Callista! I loved the plot of the first but the second and third it was the romance that held my intense love for series. Without Warner or Kenji it would never be in my favorites, it would still be good, but this is a series where it's the characters that make it reach that ultimate level of AWESOME:D

I want to make sure that you saw that I finished the series and reviewed the last book :)

Totally agree. I actually think YA does romance best like this series -not NA level, but still totally hot <3 Ummmm, not quite like this series but if you want a Mr. Complicated love interest I'd rec Dark Visions for Gabriel, Splintered for Morpheus, Shadow and Bone for Darkling, Hawksong for Zane, and Stolen Songbird for Tristan. I'm sure I'm missing a bunch, but in all honesty romance-wise nothing has come quite close to this series for me <3 Hope those help!

Just saw it <<<<<<<<<3 4 stars yayyyyyy:) It did redeem from book one for you!

The rights were bought by Fox in 2011 before the books even released but Tahereh recently posted saying she has movie news but there is no official confirmation yet! I will die from happiness if it does finally become one. Need my Warner on the big screen <3

The rights were bought by Fox in 2011 before the books even released but Tahereh recently posted saying she has movie news but there is no off..."
But what if they pick a totally inappropriate (in Rachel's head) actor to play Warner? You'll have to buy one of those "Don't judge the book by the Movie" T-shirts! (I so am going to get one of those....right after I buy the one that says "I like to Party. And by Party I mean Read Books")

The rights were bought by Fox in 2011 before the books even released but Tahereh recently posted saying she has movie news but ..."
I REFUSE TO CONSIDER THE POSSIBILITY!!!!!!!!!!! You know I will die. DIEEEEEE. Don't even start me on book shirts, were it now for my obsessive Kindle habit I would so buy all of those:D And then I'd custom make a bunch to my fave quotes, I want to make bookbags too -evil, evil Etsy.

The rights were bought by Fox in 2011 before the books even released but Tahereh recently posted saying ..."
Ha! It's why I always read the book before seeing a movie. (Though then I ruin the movie for my husband because I'm all "that's not how it happens in the book..." and then I try to explain to him why the book is better...and then I end up watching Batman Begins for the 50 millionth time to make it up to him)

Yea, my fiancé won't even sit through those YA adaptions with me, the one time he did I was ranting over The Mortal Instruments for hours! I feel you:D Book first, ALWAYS.

Same here!!!!!!!!!!! It's just so AMAZINGGGGGGG. The feels can't even begin to explain it:D

So excited for the show. Hopefully it turns out good.

He was the hot guy in Beastly and I Am Number Four (noticing a trend, all YA book movie adaptations?)! He's so gorgeous and he's got hot & arrogant down to an art!

So excited for the show. Hopefully it turns out good."
In addition to what Rachel said, Alex Pettyfer is the model for Jace on all the Mortal Instruments covers.

"
PERFECT GIFS, WOMAN. PERFECT!"
BECAUSE THAT GUY DESERVES ONLY PERFECTION, MY FRIEND!!!

Wait... what? HOW DID I NOT KNOW THIS? He also cover modeled for my beautiful, sarcastic Jace? That man's beauty knows no bounds!
I really really hope this happens and Alex Pettyfer just got cool points so being Jace!

I can see no fault with that plan:D

Ugh, yes, we need that perfect casting. In all honesty the most perfect casting in a TV show I've ever seen (not counting movies because there were a lot of good ones) was Ian Somerhalder as Damon Salvatore -I read those books in 7th grade and they got him down exactly the way in my head. Praying they do same with Warner.
Melissa (Ever So Mela) wrote: "I just hope they do not mess up Warner. I need this to be perfection"
Dude. Preaching to the choir.

Ooooooh yay:) Hehe he is perfect for Warner, just wait:D Hope you love it (some people get really annoyed by the prose) but even if not just happy I talked you into it with sexy men:D
