Lisa I hear ya on this one! I DNF'd it too. Then I was bored stupid and had nothing to read so I decided to finish it. I really wish I left it at DNF and just watched lights play on my walls instead. I thought about writing a review too... that took too much energy and I would have shredded that book. Maybe I still will :-)

Did you DNF read it recently? I'm wondering if it's one of those UF books that didn't age well. Granted, it's not that old (about 10 years I think) but years usually aren't kind to stories in this genre. Also: why did you pick up the book after DNFing? WHY? Are you some kind of deeply masochistic masochist or something? 😁😁

You mean what I was thinking when I decided to pick up this book? I might have been thinking that I was still behind on my TBR challenge and getting desperate. Other than that, well, I guess I wasn't thinking much. (Pretty sure I wouldn't have picked up the book, had my grey cells been functioning properly.)

It was some time in the summer... I think. It wasn't that it didn't age well. It was that the h was TSTL and by the time I finished reading it I had imagined all sorts of painful ways for her to die, or myself. It was a toss up at that point. lol

I DNF'd it first because it was slow, boring and too damn wordy with useless descriptions of crap. I picked it up again because I am an idiot and/or possibly a masochist. You got me there.

Well I shelved this one as "maoschistic little me" and "I must be mad" (which is Crustacean-Speak for "I am an idiot") so you are not alone, haha.

P.S. Did you consider killing the book with fire? It extremely cathartic in some cases. (And slightly better than killing one's little self.)

Oh fire came later. First it was her love interest partially tearing her throat out so she could no longer spew her crap at him. Then in pit of lye and those silica beads found in bags and shoes (great for decomposing things) she goes. Then burn it all!
What can I say, I got creative
