bookshelves: parenthood, books-to-make-you-think

At last! A book on natural childbirth told from a rational, observational and scientific viewpoint. The books on natural childbirth I've been reading seem able to explain the experience only in metaphysical, Jungian, Earth Mother mysticism and mythology. That well may be what the experience is like for women but as an outside observer it told me almost nothing about what is actually occurring - this book however does, yeah! The book is a bit dated so I'm looking forward to reading Odent's more recent book Birth And Breastfeeding: Rediscovering The Needs Of Women During Pregnancy And Childbirth.

As with other books on natural childbirth this one contains graphic images of completely naked women.
