Review for complete duet
Update after some deliberation.
I actually agree with the way Dylan ended the book, and it's the only way she could have done so to redeem Shay. So I am very happy with that.
That being said, this book needs a solid warning upfront that there is no traditional HEA, maybe not even a HEA at all depending on your perception.
As such it shouldn't be labeled a romance, rather just a love story.
If you want to know how it ends, check the spoiler tag at your own discretion. But I believe this is something a reader should know to make a decision whether to read this or not, and when, since it can be triggering.

*Still no rating because I'm torn. 4* for the story, 1* for romance, so there's that.

Ending: Shay kills himself after he sends Mina away, and it is implied that Mina ended up with Keenan and had Shay's child.
The book needs a trigger warning for suicide.

So I bit the bullet and read this duet. The writing was great, I have no qualms with that.
BUT

I don't think this fits the romance genre. I don't think it should be called romance. A character study? Yes, for sure. But not romance.
I'm actually very happy with how it ended, because Shay was a crazy motherfucker (to the extreme) but I will reiterate.

For me this isn't a romance. Not even a dark one.

My thoughts are mostly jumbled right now. I may update this review later, but that was my main issue with the book.
