The "something" I would like to do in 2013 is a continuation of a task I began about three years ago. With the help of a physical therapist I am trying to "reeducate" the muscles in my right shoulder and arm so that the correct ones are activated to perform the required task. The book I read, The Brain That Changes Itself: Stories of Personal Triumph from the Frontiers of Brain Science by Norman Doidge discusses plasticity in brain cells and how these cells can, even in adults , in essence, be reprogrammed. (It seems to be working in my case.)

I've been fortunate to be able to travel to many places in the world and see some of the great artwork. What I would love to do is travel back to Italy for an extended study period of great masters art. The book I read for this was

**This was a beautiful and HUGE book that I would characterize as a table book and I was really surprised that the library allowed me to check it out. It had really interesting side stories of what was going on in the life of the artist as well as in the world while they were working on specific works. One interesting fact that I did not know was that Michelangelo lived to almost 90 in an age when probably 50 was OLD.
