Nathan (nthnlwly) The Listopia Challenge
Duration: January - December 2013

It's back! After popular demand, the Listopia challenge is returning for another year! Feel free to carry on your goal from 2012, or to update with new goals and new lists. :)

Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ features a number of user created lists which can be found here: Listopia.

Besides the featured and popular lists on the main page you can see lists your friends have voted on as well as search for lists with topics that interest you.

The number of lists you choose and the number of books you read from each is entirely up to you. One person might choose to read the Top 100 books from one list, another person may choose to read the Top 5 books from 10 lists. You decide and mix it up any way you like.

Rules:
Choose your list (or multiple lists!) and the amount of books you plan to read from each.
State your goals in your first post. (posting a link to your lists is recommended*)
Any format of book, cross challenging etc. are all fine.
You can keep track in your Member's Corner or update here.
When you finish off a list, post your completed list here so we can all congratulate you!

* NOTE: Posting a link is not necessary, but it does help others find the list you are referring too if they want to check it out as well! If you do want to post a link, here are instructions.
1. Find your list and copy the URL (which can be found at the top of your browser, in the box with the website address)
2. When posting your comment in the comment box, the code you use to add a link is this: (backspace all the *) <*a href="/">Name of list here<*/a*>.
3. Paste the URL of your list between the two " in the first tag.

For example this (without the *): <*a href="http://www.goodreads.com/list/show/19... ">Best Science Fiction Books<*/a> turns into this: Best Science Fiction Books

Nathan (nthnlwly) I'm definitely carrying my challenge over since I didn't complete it in 2012!

Total Goal: 17

List 1: Best Science Fiction Books
Goal: 9 more (I read 11 previous to 2013)

List 2: Booklist for Trans Youth
Goal: 8 more (I read 12 previous to 2013)

message 3: by Lilac (last edited Dec 03, 2012 11:03AM) (new)

Lilac (lilac_wales) | 910 comments Yay, I loved hunting for lists earlier this year and can't wait to do it again.

First off, I'll definately read 10 books from Can't Wait Books of 2013 and I'll pick another list or two later.

EDIT - Just found a list that I'll have to read off! It's called I Only Watched The Movie and I've only read 8 books off the list, with another 34 that I only saw the movie of (mostly when I was really young) so I'll try to read another 10. :-)

Alexandra (hawkescream) | 153 comments I was debating signing up for this challenge as well but I'm sure I'll be able to make a lot of crossovers and it's just too interesting to pass up. I'm going to spend all of my free time reading next year! And I am perfectly okay with that.

I'm stealing your science fiction list Trevor =P

My goal is to read three books from each list with no crossovers from any of my other challenges. No re-reads and anything I've already read in the past does not count towards my challenge.

EDIT: Picked out my books!

Is it OK to start this challenge before the start date or do we have to wait until the set date to begin? I ask because a number of books I want to read I source from the library and as such they have time limits on how long I can have them for at any one time.

You can start early, however, only books finished in 2013 will count towards the challenge. This will apply to all challenges here. As long as a book is finished in the time frame, it counts. So if you start a book for the challenge early just be aware of that! :)
