Its a little bit early, but I know of at least ONE author attending:
Michelle K. Pickett
Michelle K. Pickett author of the forthcoming Spencer Hill Press title PODs as well as the Concilium Duology (Concilium and Concilium: The Departure).

So let's see who else we find out about in the 6 months leading up!

Jennifer L. Armentrout confirmed she will be there, too!

mwaha! that's two authors I adore! (and I'll bring my Obisidian original edition book to be signed, cause honestly, I think it needs to be).

Would it be too much to hope that she stashes Daemon...er I mean Pepe in her purse? He'd only be sort of kind of kidnapped by hordes of females...(Simone Eckles had her two cover guys a couple years back and that was pretty fab I gotta say).

Did you miss her signing copies of Obsidian at BEA 2012?

message 5: by Lexie (new)

Lexie (poisonedrationality) | 657 comments Mod
Yeah I was due at a quickee interview w/another author and didn't make it out in time. I made it to her Cursed signing tho!

via twitter for Month9Books:
Shannon Delany
Jackie Kessler
Kelly Hashway

The tweet said 8 of their authors...but I can't find mention of who else will be there apart from them (point in fact, Kelly Hashway may also do something for Spencer Hill as her book, Touch of Death, just came out and the second book Stalked by Death comes out in July).

Lexie, you've done BEA more than I have, do you remember roughly how long prior to BEA they post the schedule?

message 14: by Lexie (new)

Lexie (poisonedrationality) | 657 comments Mod
an initial draft usually 8 weeks before, and then it gets updated weekly give or take. they should be posting the author breakfast authors real soon. the hitch is power reader's day and BEA Bloggers. they are pushing them way more so.

message 15: by Hannah (new)

Hannah McBride (ideally_hannah) | 620 comments Mod
Are you doing the blogger con?

message 16: by Lexie (new)

Lexie (poisonedrationality) | 657 comments Mod
Wish I could, but if I paid for me I'd have to pay for Tegs as well and...that's a lot of money :shrugs: I'm so interested in it though, the panel is full of folk I admire (in the blogging community) and I think they'll make it worth the time/money spent.

Maybe if my taxes come back higher than I expect or if I don't get in to the University I applied to (since that's a large chunk of my money right there) I can afford it. Til then I'm eagerly looking forward to the posts from attendees!

message 17: by Hannah (new)

You pay everything for Tegan?

message 18: by Lexie (new)

>.> the vast majority yeah. This year we're lucky in that her boss at the bookstore is covering our passes since well Tegan works there and I sort of help out there, but yeah food, hotel, travel, shipping, sovenirs are mostly me.

message 20: by Lexie (new)

Lexie (poisonedrationality) | 657 comments Mod
ahahah I'm scared to death of her that's why. You can ask Tasch or Nicole about some of Tegs' scary moments.

Though in all seriousness, its usually her birthday gift from me and she's at least mindful of not spending all of my money. Its the only time of year she's mindful of it XD

In related to Authors News: Rick Riordan has been announced as being part of the Children's Breakfast on Friday. He'll be chatting about The House of Hades.

OOO. I'll pass that info on to my sister, she loves Mythology.

message 29: by Lexie (new)

Lexie (poisonedrationality) | 657 comments Mod
That would ALMOST make me want to go, but I like the Kane Chronicles a bit moreso.

message 30: by Running (new)

Running | 195 comments Mod
I'm unfamiliar with those.

message 31: by Lexie (new)

Lexie (poisonedrationality) | 657 comments Mod
The Red Pyramid (Book 1)
The Throne of Fire (Book 2)
The Serpent's Shadow (Book 3)

They're more steeped in Egyptian mythology, about a set of siblings racing to save their father.

Hannah McBride (ideally_hannah) | 620 comments Mod
Yeah, y'all kinda rock. I'm so excited for the dinner.

That's great news about Rick Riordan. I'm not going the the breakfast, but I've only heard great things about him!

Its 48 for the not special seating, but 100 for reserved seating and 27 to just sort of sit and watch with no breakfast.

Should have figured this--she's majorly popular (forefront of YA Dystopia I'd lay odds) and has a major movie deal now.

Major TV deal girl, her series is going to the small screen. I WISH they would give us an ARC of the third book.

*Is still dead*

Wait, they're making Divergent a TV Series? Are you for real?! Nooooo, they can't do that. I heard they were in talks with Kate Winslet for it.

Ta§chima wrote: Major TV deal girl, her series is going to the small screen. ..."

Ohh I thought it was a movie deal, but well that's slightly better. I'll watch a show over a movie most days.

:pats: And I hope they give us copies of Brandon Sanderson's new novel--there's THREE OF THEM due out this year, ONE OF THEM has to be at Book Expo right?

message 41: by Taschima (last edited Feb 04, 2013 04:43PM) (new)

message 44: by Lexie (new)

Lexie (poisonedrationality) | 657 comments Mod
NOT BECAUSE I'M CREEPY. I did a series of interviews with him by phone and video a couple years back. He gave them to me in case I needed to keep in touch. I've been WAY TOO SCARED to use them. Also I have Marjorie M. Liu's information...for the same reasons.

Prodigy, Eve, Legend, Once, Rise, Divergent, Delirium, Requiem, Insurgent, Champion, Pandaemonium, Incarnate, Asunder, Unraveling, Unbreakable,

and that is just off the top of my head.

whoa whoa whoa Unraveling/Unbreakable isn't Dystopian, its Science Fiction with one of the worlds facing an apocalypse. Difference man!
