~KarenH~ | 10994 comments I finished my third (and probably last) book today - Finding Zach. I really liked it a lot - not quite 5 stars, but a high 4. I listened to the audio version, narrated by Paul Morey, and it was very well done. Great recommendations this month, Brandilyn, I enjoyed all the ones I read, and a couple more that I was previously unfamiliar with made their was onto my radar - thanks!

message 502: by Kami (new)

Kami (aidansmama) | 988 comments I finished On Dublin Street. It was pretty good and I gave it four stars.

Jane Doe | 125 comments Becca Hi!
Finished book four.
Daughter of Darkness Daughter of Darkness (Kindred, #1) by V.C. Andrews V.C. Andrews
I gave it 4 stars and want to read the next book in this series. It's a dark read actually darker than I was expecting. Thanks for the pick.
Here's my review.

message 504: by Zara's Retreat (new)

Zara's Retreat | 932 comments I finally finished The Thorn Birds. I have to say that this is one of those rare times when I have to say that that the movie was far better, for me at least, than the book was. Please don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed the book I just felt that the movie brought out the images better than I could visualise them straight from the book. Thanks for the pick. I don't think I'll get another one in before the end of the month so I have to say this is it.

Wake Me Up Inside 4 stars despite the fact that cheating was involved. Ughhh...I hate that and I can't believe I didn't read that in any of the reviews. It would have not made my TBR had I realized it. The act didn't take place only because it was interrupted. To me, that's no better than if it had taken place. Anyay, despite that, I did enjoy the book. Thanks for the pick. I am hoping to get to one, possibly two more this week.

message 506: by Shelley (new)

Shelley | 141 comments Ty,

Thanks for all the great rec's. I finally decided on Running Wild (The Men from Battle Ridge, #1) by Linda Howard . I loved it! One of the best books I've read in a long time.

I completely missed both of your posts :/ I'm glad you liked the books, they're both light and quick reads and beginnings of good series. What are you planning to read next?

finished Slade (New Species, #2) by Laurann Dohner by Laurann Dohner and really enjoyed it.
I am doing a Buddy Read of Zero at the Bone (Zero at the Bone, #1) by Jane Seville so I hope I love it too.

Thank you for your recommendation :)

message 510: by Becca (new)

Becca (becca16) | 293 comments I finished my first book earlier this week! The Laughing Corpse (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #2) by Laurell K. Hamilton It was sooooo good! I couldn't put it down and can't wait to read the next one! Thanks for the push! I don't know why it took me so long to get to it! I'm going to try to get one more book finished this week!

message 511: by Vi (new)

Vi | 2744 comments Hi Elizabeth! I finished Flowers from the Storm by Laura Kinsale the other day. The heroine almost drove me mad but the romance and the story line was so good that it overcame the h. Thanks for the push to take it off my TBR. I've been wanting to read it for so long.

Elizabeth (elizabeth_greece) | 1918 comments MountainKat hi!
I finished I Suck at Girls by Justin Halpern , which I didn't find as funny as the other one
Hot Head (Head, #1) by Damon Suede , I liked it but I was a bit disappointed because several readers said that it was super emotional, super hot etc. and I didn't actually think that it was anything super
Edge of Dawn (Midnight Breed, #11) by Lara Adrian I'm currently reading it and I'll try to finish it during the weekend and maybe start Gone Country (Rough Riders, #14) by Lorelei James before the 30th.
Love Irresistibly and My Kind of Christmas: I'll fit these on July's challenges
Dragon Bound: I'm going to read this soon, but I don't know when, probably on July, as well

MountainKat | 30378 comments Wow Elizabeth, you read a lot of picks! I didn't think I Suck at Girls was as funny either, but still funny and the end got to me and made me go awww. I hope you enjoy Edge of Dawn and Gone Country and the rest too! They were all winners for me, of course some more so than others, but all enjoyable!

But that party scene in I Suck At Girls....I was laughing so hard I was crying...and I agree Kat, the ending was so sweet.

The ending was the best part, I agree.
The funny thing is that perhaps because of the other book I thought the girl would say no and kept waiting that something is going to happen and she would change her mind or something.
The party secne was so ewww, embarassing!

There have been a few times I've been afraid it would get a little preachy, but so far so good. I'm really curious how it will all work out though, because I just don't see how it can.

Something Like Summer (Season #1) by Jay Bell I loved this book. I will be reading the other two later this year. Changing The Game (Play By Play, #2) by Jaci Burton This was a really good book. I always wanted to read it, but I never had time to. Eighty Days Yellow (Eighty Days, #1) by Vina Jackson This was an interesting book. Interesting enough to make me want to read the other two in this series. Including the books in the "Eighty Days : Companion series".

I will be reading all the other books later this year.
